Blepharitis is almost like scales on the lashes. So yes, it can lead to intolerance to contact lenses because of the irritation. The reason said, a hot towel is used because it "melt" dandruff of the eyelashes gently. Another good thing my doctor told me the eye using a drop of Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo in a towel soaked in warm water and rub gently on the tabs to get shed. It really helps my son.
